In the Bay Area

The Augie Fund at That Man May See provides glasses for kids from low-income families, with zero red tape. To meet this need, we partner with pediatric ophthalmologists and optometrists at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, and See Well to Learn, a program of Prevent Blindness Northern California.

Around the World

Francis I. Proctor Foundation for Research in Ophthalmology investigates, prevents, and treats blinding eye diseases globally – working in Ethiopia, India, Mexico, Nepal, Niger, Thailand, and beyond. Underresourced areas bear the heaviest burden from diseases like glaucoma, corneal ulcers, and trachoma. Telemedicine, mathematical modeling, and other pioneering approaches allow these vision scientists to better understand and treat eye disease in remote communities, giving hope and, in many cases, saving lives.
